School Board Approves Change to 2025-26 School Year Calendar

At its meeting on November 13, the School Board approved a change to the 2025-26 school calendar that allows additional time for elementary and middle school parent–teacher conferences in the spring.The following changes were approved:

  • March 13, 2026, is now a no-school day for elementary and middle school students. Parent-teacher conferences will be held all day. High school students have a regular full day of school.
  • April 22, 2026, is now a full instructional day for elementary and middle school students. High schools will still have early release on this day.

Order Next Year School Supplies

Get a head start on the 2026-2027 school year by ordering your school supplies! Each year, the Jamestown PTA coordinates the ordering of school supplies for the next school year. These kits contain exactly what the teachers have requested to assist the students in learning.

MAP & SOL Testing Schedule

Students in grades 1–5 will participate in MAP Testing from April 20–29. Students in grades 3–5 will then take the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) assessments throughout the month of May. We hope that any appointments and/or trips can be scheduled around our testing dates. Thank you.

School Board Approves April 21 Change to 2025-26 School Year Calendar

At its meeting on March 26, the School Board approved a change to designate April 21 as a no-school day for students, due to a special election. Staff will participate in countywide professional learning.
