The JGB program combines high-quality literature, student-centered discussion, and activities that support reading comprehension and critical thinking. Students are provided a PTA-subsidized book of stories, and small groups meet to discuss these stories at school from 8:15 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. for an 8 week period starting the week of January 6. Fourth and fifth grade groups will meet on Tuesdays and first, second, and third grade groups will meet on Wednesdays. The discussions are led by the parents of participating students. To register for the program, please email your child’s name, grade, & teacher to junior-great-books@jamestownpta.org and Venmo $13 to @Emily-Kiggen (last four digits 0198). You may also give an envelope to your child’s teacher with a check made payable to Jamestown PTA, your student’s information, and your contact information. Deadline to register is Friday, November 22. Email junior-great-books@jamestownpta.org with any questions.
