Accessing eBooks, Audiobooks, and Databases

Accessing eBooks, Audiobooks and Library Databases

Jamestown Library, Arlington County Public Schools, and the Jamestown PTA provide students with reliable and valid resources on the types of information they need most. Two sources of eBooks and audiobooks, MackinVIA and Destiny Discover, include thousands of eBooks and audiobooks that can be read and listened to all year and all summer long.

From home, students should use their one login username and password. They do not need to use a school-issued device to access these resources. To use these resources from school or from home, use the MackinVIA app or along with your child’s OneLogin username and password. To access eBooks and audiobooks through Destiny Discovery, student should go to the Library homepage and log in with their OneLogin username and password.

MackinVia Login  MackinVia provides electronic access to picture books, chapter books, and nonfiction for students to browse online or check out to their devices.   Students: At the sign in, select Jamestown Elementary, Arlington VA from the drop down menu. The User ID is your student ID and Password is your unique password (OneLogin ID and password). If it requires you to log in a second time under the Follett heading, do so using your OneLogin ID and password.

Destiny Discovery

Within Destiny Discover is the option to explore eBooks, audiobooks, and different collections created for grade-level research projects. These books are primarily for elementary school students. Some books are shared county-wide. As you might assist your child at the public library, please help your children when selecting ebooks and audiobooks.

Students can also check their library acccounts, leave reviews (published after approval by the librarian) and place holds on books and eBooks that are checked out.

Online Databases

Databases for student research are now accessed through Canvas. For instructions, please visit the Library Services website. For questions, please contact the Jamestown librarian.
