Project Quest: Jamestown Exemplary Project

Project Quest
Jamestown Elementary School
Project Quest, our exemplary project, is a school-wide initiative to ensure continuous school improvement in teaching and learning, and fostering of the whole child. As part of Project Quest, teachers use Responsive Classroom principles and practices to address students’ social and emotional needs. An academic program includes differentiating instruction by addressing students’ multiple intelligences and by integrating technology as a tool for “voice and choice.” This encourages self-directed learning of which the student can take ownership. Specific examples of continuous improvement and fostering the whole child include:

  • Opportunities for parent engagement
  • Responsive Classroom principles and practices
  • Annual teacher SMART goals as an opportunity for self-reflection and improvement
  • Student-to-teacher and teacher-to-student timely feedback
